How to change the time and date on a Vodavi/Vertical phone system.
- At the operators station, normally extension 100. Dial 692
- The display show read “Date and Time”
- Dial YY/MM/DD/HH/MM
a. YY = 2 digit year
b. MM = 2 digit month
c. DD = 2 digit day
d. HH = 2 digit hour in 24 hour format
e. MM = 2 digit minute - 4. The system should give you confirmation tone and the time and date should change.
Note: in some cases the system numbering plan may have been altered to accommodate customer requests and the 692 code may be different. If this does not work please call our office.
On NEC UX5000 or SV8100
- Dial either 728 or 828, depending on software version. The display will not change
- Dial the HH/MMa. HH = 2 digit hour in 24 hour format.
b. MM = 2 digit minute - 3. The system will give you confirmation tone and the time will update on the terminal.
Question:
When people call me on the intercom the call does not come through hands free
On Vodavi/Vertical there is a button or switch marked HTP. If it is a switch move it the H (hands free) position. If it a button press it until the light is out, if you have a display it should say “HANDSFREE”.
On NEC dial 821 or 721 to switch from signal to voice, the display should say “Voice Call”. To switch back to signaling mode dial either 823 or 723, the display will show “Signaling”

On Vodavi/Vertical, there are personal and system speed bins. The personal bins are 9000-90019, which are programmed from each individual terminal. The system speed bins are from 9020-9099, which can only be programmed from the attendant location (normally station 100). Depending on software and programing, there are an additional bins 9100-9999 available.
- Press the Speed key twice
- Dial the bin location 9XXX
- Dial the phone number to store
- Press the Speed key once, you should here confirmation tone.
On NEC UX5000 or SV8100
- Press down arrow software under the display
- Press Prog software key
- Press down arrow software key
- Press ABB or SPD
- Dial 3 digit bin location (000-999)
- Dial phone number to store
- Press hold
- Dial digit to enter a name for the bin, very similar to entering a name on a cell phone
- Press hold
- You can enter another bin to continue programming the speed dial

To Manually Forward a Phone on NEC
1. Dial * 2
2. Press 1 for Personal Answering Machine Emulation (Then skip to step 4).
2 for Busy or No Answer.
3 for Immediate.
4 for No Answer.
5 for Immediate with Simultaneous Ring (not for use with VM).
3. Enter extension number to forward to.
4. Press 2 for All Calls.
3 for Outside Calls only.
4 for Intercom Calls only.
5. Press SPK button when finished.
To Manually Cancel Call Forwarding
6. Press Call 1 button and * 2.
7. Press 0.

- While on a call, either incoming or outgoing.
- Press the Conf key
- Pick up another line and dial second phone number, or dial an internal party
- Once they answer press Conf key
- You can continue adding parties up to 5 external calls
- Once you have everyone press the Conf key again to connect everyone together.
On NEC UX5000 or SV8100
- While on a call, either incoming or outgoing
- Press Conf soft key
- Pick up another line and dial second phone number, or dial an internal party
- Press Add soft key
- You can continue adding parties up to 16 external calls
- Once you have everyone press the Begin soft key

On early versions of software
- Dial 659 to view Answered or 635 for Unanswered calls
- Use the HOLD to go the next entry
- Use the TRANS to go to previous entry
On newer Version of software
- Dial 669 to view both Answered and Unanswered calls
- Use the volume keys to step up and down the table.
On NEC UX5000 or SV8100
- Press the List soft key
- Press CID soft key to view incoming calls, or Redial to view outgoing calls.
- Press the up and down arrow soft keys to go up and down in the table

- PRESS 1 TO REVIEW DATA, 2 TO RECORD AND 3 TO DELETE
- PRESS * TO GO BACK TO DESIRED MENU GREETING NUMBER
- PRESS * * TO RETURN TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE OPTION MENU
- PRESS * * * TO EXIT THE SYSTEM COMPLETELY

Recording Greetings in NEC Intramail
- Press VMsg key. The mailbox must have System Administrator enabled. By default mailbox 301 has Administrator rights.
- If you have a security code enter your security code
- Dial 72 for Administrator functions
- Dial 4 or the Instr soft key for Instruction mailbox greetings
- Dial 001 for Day Greeting, 002 for Night greeting
- Dial 7 or Rec soft key to record the greeting
- Press # to end the recording
- Press 5 or Lstn soft key to listen the recording
- Press # to go back to record another greeting
